Happy Friday Sunflowers!
Today’s post is a lipstick review on some of the new matte lip stains I recently bought off of Amazon. I’ve been using this particular line of Maybelline lipsticks since uni but decided to experiment with some newer colours and I’m so glad I did!! I filmed my reaction to trying these lipsticks on and you can watch that Video here: https://youtu.be/t6RgjjM62q0 for more details on the application and whether or not these lipsticks are as long-lasting as they claim to be!
From the moment I saw this I knew Amazonian was a must have. I’m a sucker for peachy-coloured lipsticks that give the impression that your lips are just naturally rosy and you aren’t actually wearing any lipstick. I can definitely see myself wearing this to the office or during my day-to-day errands, and I will probably also use this as a base for when I wear darker lipsticks.
Escapist unlocks a different side of me for sure! It gives me a “girl’s night out” or “high-end fashion event” kind of vibe, which I LOVE. I do have to admit that I get a little nervous about wearing dark lipsticks such as this one and I usually stay away from them where I can because your entire aura truly has to level up to them if you know what I mean! Escapist is not for the faint at heart, I can tell you that haha. I found that this lipstick was a little stickier to apply than the other two though, which was a little disappointing.
HEAR ME OUT OK.
Protector is my absolute #1!! Not only did sis feel super classy with this colour on, but I felt like it effortlessly complimented my skin tone, NO QUESTIONS ASKED. The application was smooth and silky and I already know this colour is going to carry me through all of the seasons. This shade was definitely my favourite and seems to be one that would be most versatile for Black girls of any shade.
Which of these shades is your favourite? Have you tried any of the lipsticks from the Superstay Matte Ink line? Let me know down in the comments, and click on the links below to purchase your own lipsticks in these shades:
